Interior Couture, founded in 2005 by former lawyer Elaine Williams, has been crafting unique and beautiful spaces for clients worldwide in the 20 years since. Obsessing about interiors for a lifetime (the endless changing round of a childhood bedroom may have been a clue…) Elaine took her organisational and detail-driven skills from law into property, running projects with the same clear focus and determination of a timely successful outcome. A Post Graduate Diploma in Architectural Interior Design from the prestigious Inchbald School of Design was a pathway into the world of luxury interior design. It has been a joy and a passion ever since.

We’re obsessed with creating beautiful design solutions to deal with the minutiae of daily life, making homes practical yet chic, a life-saver for all of us naturally messy types. As Coco Chanel said - luxury is not luxury without comfort. And we live by that, although we’d add that we define comfort as being able to relax and thoroughly enjoy your home - it should not be a showpiece - whatever your family set up - whether it’s children, dogs or red wine and curry that threatens to mess it up (or all of the above).

Fascinated by the history of architecture and design, we continue to study and explore, and trawl European antique fairs, international design shows in Milan, New York, London, art galleries and artisans’ ateliers in the pursuit of the perfect pieces (it’s a terrible job, but someone’s got to do it). We endlessly scrutinise and revise plans and drawings until we’ve squeezed every last inch of precious hidden storage out of them, something every city dweller always seems to need. And we always try to connect inside and out, whether you’re lucky enough to live in the countryside, or only have a patch of terrace to call your own.
